It's time for another Take 5 Tuesday, and this weeks staff member is Amber Evans. Every Tuesday, a different staff member will answer 5 questions about themselves and their life. So sit down, take 5, and learn about the folks caring for your furry family members.

1.  Who is your role model, and why?
This would have to be Ric O'Barry, an activist who specializes in educating the public about dolphins and the threats they face in the modern world, especially in areas of the world where dolphins are hunted for their meat.  He has dedicated his life to this work, and it's to his perseverance I turn when the going gets tough in my own life.

2.  What is your favorite part of your job?
As a naturally more introverted person, it suits my personality to focus on small groups of people (and dogs, who are people too!).  I can spend quality time with each family individually and get to know them more closely than I would in any other setting.  That connection is, by far, the best part of my job. And the cuddles.  Those are always nice, too!

3.  What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
On nice days, I like to go down to Charleston Harbor and watch the dolphins.  It's a very restorative pastime, and occasionally you get to see some really cool stuff!  When going to the Harbor isn't an option, you'll very likely find me at the library with my nose in a book.

4.  If you could wake up tomorrow having gained one quality or ability, what would it be?
This is a tough one, because I happen to be very comfortable with myself just the way I am.  On the other hand, several times a year I attend events for which I prefer to wear specialized costumes, but my sewing skills are mediocre at best.  Give the the ability to sew a solid hem, and I'll be set!

5.  Three little known facts about you
Q is my favorite Star Trek character
I have committed several of Tolkien's longer poems to memory; I recited the entire "Song of Earendil" as part of a book report in the 11th grade!!
I love old school video games, especially platformers, and leveraged this fact in a debate among my classmates in my Developmental Psychology class... no one could believe I was a gamer and had turned out as "normal" as I did!
