Meet the Staff

Gray and her team are proudly leading the way towards a higher standard in the pet care industry. Dog Tired is the first to offer Doggie Daycare 2.0 in Charleston, SC, which focuses on dog enrichment and individualized care. Dog Tired’s goal is for every dog to leaves their center behaviorally and emotionally better than when they arrived. Dog Tired has been nominated as a Charter Member of the Dog Gurus, an industry leader in training and safety for off leash dog play.

Dog Tired has the best trained staff in the Charleston area. They continually strive to meet the rigorous standards set by The Dog Gurus, IBPSA (International Boarding & Pet Services), and the PACCC (Professional Animal Care Council Certification).

Additionally, all staff members undergo an extensive 16 week training course on dog body language with workbooks and testing provided by The Dog Gurus. General ManagerMina joined Dog Tired as General Manager in September 2018. She is originally from New Jersey where she grew up working at a therapeutic horse farm and surrounded by animals. Fueled by her love of animals, she attended Rutgers University for her undergrad, majoring in Animal Science.
After school she moved to Los Angeles, California for several years before finally making her home in Charleston. She now lives on James Island with her small zoo of cats, Banana, Chloe, Bodhi, and Mikey, as well as her two rescue hounds, Penny and Flora. In her spare time, Mina enjoys making art and hanging with her family.


Pet Sitting Manager, CPACMKate’s tenure with Dog Tired has allowed her to work in all aspects of the business. Born and raised in New York, she moved south to attend the College of Charleston and has called Charleston home ever since. Her love and understanding for dogs parlayed perfectly into working at Dog Tired. Kate is certified by the American Red Cross in Dog and Cat Emergency Care. Her furbabies include a pit mix Quincy, a hound mix Emmie Lou, and two black cats Figaro and Oliver. When she’s not busy at Dog Tired, Kate enjoys spending time with her kids and husband, preferably on a boat somewhere. She is also an avid USC football fan!


GroomerMichelle is originally from Austintown, Ohio. She moved to South Carolina in high school. She received her Associate of Science Degree from Trident Technical School. Michelle now lives in Goose Creek with her husband and four children. After working in the school district for several years, she became a stay at home mom for her four children. Now that the children are growing, Michelle enjoys indulging in her passion for animals by serving as a groomer at Dog Tired Services. She loves working with the dogs and enjoys working alongside like-minded animal lovers. She has been with Dog Tired since the winter of 2013.


Assistant ManagerJess moved to South Carolina from Phoenix, Arizona 8 years ago. She has been working with animals since 2012. She started as a bather then quickly became a groomer and now she has been working in the doggy daycare business for 5 years! She loves hiking and camping, anything to do with nature. She also has a love for all types of animals. She owns a German Shepherd Pit Mix named Athena and a Great Pyrenees Shepherd mix named Aiden and a few reptiles. Jessi has a strong passion for dogs and is enjoying working with people that share her passion.


Back of House LeadAllyson was born and raised in the heart of Charleston, SC. She has personal little zoo at home consisting of her 3 dogs, Toby, Luna, and Ginger, and her two cats, Oliver and Cassy. She is very passionate about working with animals and she one day hopes to be a vet! When she’s not working, she enjoys working on her photography skills!


Back of House LeadJessie hails from Evergreen, SC. She has worked with animals all her life, solidifying her passion for all creatures. She has owned and taken care of a wide range of animals from hamsters and mice to rabbits, cats, and dogs. She worked extensively with a Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, providing transport to the center for wildlife like squirrels and opossums, deer, and even a bear cub! In her free time, Jessie prefers to be outdoors, whether it be for hiking, fishing, or taking a walk on the beach.


Senior Pet TechAshlee joined Dog Tired with several years of experience working in dog daycare facilities. She is passionate about dogs and loves the opportunity to work hands on with them. Ashlee especially enjoys working with dogs that may need a little extra attention, training, or direction. When not at Dog Tired, Ashlee enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors.


Pet TechJakob joined Dog Tired in March 2018 to pursue working with dogs! When not working, Jakob travels the United States competing in Armored combat tournaments. Jakob’s hobbies include hanging with his Saint Bernard Zoe and eating copious amounts of food.


Pet TechAshley is originally from Orangeburg, SC but now loves living in Charleston with her family! She has a lifelong passion for French bulldogs and looks forward to the day when she can have another one! When she’s not loving on all the little pups at Dog Tired, she likes to read and cook (with a glass of wine, naturally)!


Pet TechDillon moved to South Carolina in 2016 from Maryland. His career with animals started at Petco, where he was exposed to many different creatures. He then started working at doggy daycares. He loves working with all types of dogs of shapes and sizes, but his absolute favorite is the Australian Shepherd! He owns an Aussie named Cotton who is deaf and partially blind. In his spare time he likes to go to music festivals and swinging Poi. Dillon hopes to one day become a dog trainer and is working hard towards his goal.


Pet SitterMichael moved to Charleston in 1996 to attend The Citadel. After graduating, he took a job with the Mt Pleasant Police Department. Michael & his wife welcomed triplet daughters in 2007. In his very limited spare time, Michael enjoys metal detecting, duck hunting, camping & hiking and listening to podcasts.


Pet SitterCandace has been with Dog Tired for over a year. She received her Bachelors of Science from The College of Charleston and her Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina. She works part time with Dog Tired as a walker, pet sitter, and wedding nanny. She has two adopted fur babies of her own that keep her company.


Pet SitterSue grew up in Chicago and moved around until settling down in Charleston in 2000. She has one daughter, 3 cats and 2 dogs. A wine professional by trade, Sue is now a caterer and lover of gourmet. Sue has a passion for all living things and a great sense of humor!


Pet SitterClaudia, a Maryland native, has over 10 years of pet experience. She specializes in toy size dog breeds after rescuing and bringing her toy poodle back to stability from hypoglycemia. After taking care of pets throughout the day, you can find her at the gym training for life!


Pet SitterLauren (Lola), a native of upstate New York, has over 10 years of experience in pet care, previously working at daycare and boarding facilities as well as freelancing in in-home pet care. She moved to the Charleston area recently to be closer to her family and her best friend, a 14-year-old Cavapoo named Jackson. Although her main interests are centered around animals, she has an extensive background with music that includes a degree in music performance. She hopes to eventually discover a way her passion for music and her passion for animals can be integrated. In her spare time Lauren enjoys listening to audio books, trying new foods, and playing with her dog.


Pet SitterKathy joined the Dog Tired team of pet sitters in August 2018 after retiring from the education field. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from Salem State College in Massachusetts. Kathy has never been without dogs and cats in her life. She is a caring, conscientious, responsible and loving pet parent to her senior dog, Jenny, and her senior cat, Dillon. Kathy describes working for Pet Tired as the best job she has ever held because it is such a happy place and the fur babies are awesome!


Pet SitterNicole moved from New Jersey to the Charleston area over 20 years ago. She currently lives on Johns Island with her husband, step-daughter, dog Ruby, and three cats, Gabby, Storm, and Arlo. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, and gardening. Nicole has been a pet sitter with Dog Tired since May 2018.


Pet SitterNicki is originally from a small town in Southern Illinois who quickly moved to Charleston, South Carolina the day that she graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Hospitality Management Major. When she is not playing and caring for her furry four legged friends, she is busy planning weddings, as a full time wedding planner in the Lowcountry. Otherwise, you’ll find her on Folly Beach with her dogs, or traveling during her off season. She currently has Mali – a husky mix, Holly – a treeing walking coonhound, and Tanner, a golden retriever, and even fosters with Euonia Rescue when help is needed.
