Meet the Staff

Gray and her team are proudly leading the way towards a higher standard in the pet care industry. Dog Tired is the first to offer Doggie Daycare 2.0 in Charleston, SC, which focuses on dog enrichment and individualized care. Dog Tired’s goal is for every dog to leaves their center behaviorally and emotionally better than when they arrived. Dog Tired has been nominated as a Charter Member of the Dog Gurus, an industry leader in training and safety for off leash dog play.

Dog Tired has the best trained staff in the Charleston area. They continually strive to meet the rigorous standards set by The Dog Gurus, IBPSA (International Boarding & Pet Services), and the PACCC (Professional Animal Care Council Certification).

Additionally, all staff members undergo an extensive 16 week training course on dog body language with workbooks and testing provided by The Dog Gurus. Pet Sitting Manager and Daycare/Boarding Manager Kate’s tenure with Dog Tired has allowed her to work in all aspects of the business. Born and raised in New York, she moved south to attend the College of Charleston and has called Charleston home ever since. Her love and understanding for dogs parlayed perfectly into working at Dog Tired. Kate is certified by the American Red Cross in Dog and Cat Emergency Care. Her furbabies include a pit mix Quincy, a hound mix Emmie Lou, and two black cats Figaro and Oliver. When she’s not busy at Dog Tired, Kate enjoys spending time with her kids and husband, preferably on a boat somewhere. She is also an avid USC football fan!


General Manager & Dog Trainer Jordan has been with the Dog Tired Team since September 2019. Jordan started in the animal field by volunteering and eventually becoming the Head Zookeeper at a local Zoo in her home town. After leaving the Zoo, she started a 6 year tenure working at Petsmart. There she became a certified Positive Reinforcement Dog Trainer and worked half a year in the Grooming Salon. Jordan was living in Mississippi and running her own Hobby Farm when she accepted the position here at Dog Tired. After finding homes for her Horses, Goats, Chickens, and pet pig Henwen she moved her family (a husband and 2 toddlers) here to start a new exciting adventure.


Assistant Manager Stephanie is originally from Los Angeles, California, but moved to Charleston, South Carolina in middle school. Her lifelong passion for animals has led her to work in many different parts of the dog care field, and she loves all of the pups she’s able to meet because of it. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, and playing video games.


GroomerMichelle is originally from Austintown, Ohio. She moved to South Carolina in high school. She received her Associate of Science Degree from Trident Technical School. Michelle now lives in Goose Creek with her husband and four children. After working in the school district for several years, she became a stay at home mom for her four children. Now that the children are growing, Michelle enjoys indulging in her passion for animals by serving as a groomer at Dog Tired Services. She loves working with the dogs and enjoys working alongside like-minded animal lovers. She has been with Dog Tired since the winter of 2013.


GroomerAverie is from a small town in Massachusetts then lived in Dallas, Texas for 5 Years and has now made Charleston her home. She has over 9 years experience grooming as well as several years experience in other areas of the pet care industry. Her personal pack includes 3 dogs; Chopper, Gracie, & Scooter as well as 2 cats; Calvin & Chiba. I’m Averie’s spare time she is a foodie and enjoys trying all types of food!


Dog Trainer


Concierge ServicesAshley is originally from Orangeburg, SC but now loves living in Charleston with her family! She has a lifelong passion for French bulldogs and looks forward to the day when she can have another one! When she’s not loving on all the little pups at Dog Tired, she likes to read and cook (with a glass of wine, naturally)!



Back of House Lead Holli is originally from a small town in Upstate New York. She has loved animals her whole life and has always wanted to work with them. When she was a kid, she would bring home all the animals that didn’t have a home. She started working at Dog Tired in April 2019 and loves it! Her favorite part is getting to know each and every dog and when they are happy to see her. She has a teenage daughter, a cat named Sophie, and a Shih Tzu named Tito. Holli loves to talk, meet new people and travel to new places! 


Back of House Lead


Back of House Lead Elliot has been working with dogs in a daycare/boarding setting since 2015. He has always had a passion for animals and caring for them. He cares for every dog as if they were his own, because he believes every dog deserves to be loved! It is his dream to one day train therapy dogs. He loves the work that they do and thinks it is so important! 


Pet TechEmily is originally from Connecticut but has lived in the Charleston area for over 15 years. She has a passion for working with animals and her work history is full of canine experience. Emily has two fur-babies at home, a Beagle mix named Milo, and a Shih Tzu named Niko. She is currently going to college to become a Veterinary Technician, but also enjoys playing video games in her spare time. 


Pet TechMatthew joined the team in August 2020. Matthew is originally from Summit, New Jersey but moved to charleston bc of parents retiring. Matthew enjoys reading and gaming in his free time. He feels passionate about interacting with dogs in petcare, and worked at another petcare establishment for four and a half years. Matthew is committed to providing professional quality individualized petcare to all of the pets of Dog Tired. If you ever see Matthew around, please don’t hesitate to reach out to introduce yourself to him, as he loves getting to know the Dog Tired family!


Pet TechSheryl Lynn is from Charleston & was raised on Johns Island, SC. She previously worked in a property services occupation as administrative assistant for 22 years. She decided to leave that job and pursue a childhood dream of taking care of animals. Her furbaby Rufus passed away in August of 2018 and her furbaby Calililly as recently as August 2020 who both crossed the Rainbow Bridge due to old age. Dog Tired has offered her the opportunity to fulfill her heart and her time with helping to take care of many furbabies as her own. Her life long dream of working with pets has finally come true! She is excited to be a part of the team and will probably be adopting another furbay or two in the near future.



Pet Sitting Assistant Manager Nicole moved from New Jersey to the Charleston area over 20 years ago. She currently lives on Johns Island with her husband, step-daughter, dog Ruby, and three cats, Gabby, Storm, and Arlo. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, and gardening. Nicole has been a pet sitter with Dog Tired since May 2018.


Senior Pet SitterMichael moved to Charleston in 1996 to attend The Citadel. After graduating, he took a job with the Mt Pleasant Police Department. Michael & his wife welcomed triplet daughters in 2007. In his very limited spare time, Michael enjoys metal detecting, duck hunting, camping & hiking and listening to podcasts.


Senior Pet Sitter

Candace has been with Dog Tired for over a year. She received her Bachelors of Science from The College of Charleston and her Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina. She works part time with Dog Tired as a walker, pet sitter, and wedding nanny. She has two adopted fur babies of her own that keep her company.


Senior Pet SitterClaudia, a Maryland native, has over 10 years of pet experience. She specializes in toy size dog breeds after rescuing and bringing her toy poodle back to stability from hypoglycemia. After taking care of pets throughout the day, you can find her at the gym training for life!


Senior Pet Sitter

Kathy joined the Dog Tired team of pet sitters in August 2018 after retiring from the education field. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from Salem State College in Massachusetts. Kathy has never been without dogs and cats in her life. She is a caring, conscientious, responsible and loving pet parent to her senior dog, Jenny, and her senior cat, Dillon. Kathy describes working for Pet Tired as the best job she has ever held because it is such a happy place and the fur babies are awesome!


Pet Sitter

Emily was born in Charleston and grew up on John’s Island. She went to Trident Technical college to get her certification to be an esthetician. She is now a licensed esthetician. Helping people feel good about their skin and themselves is one of her goals. She works part-time as a pet sitter. Dog Tired has allowed her to pursue her childhood passion, working with animals. Loving and caring for other people’s pets brings her great joy.
